There probably is a thread for this already, but I know a lot of us will be seniors next year and I figured we should have a place to freak out as one.

Oh wow, like five seconds ago I was totally just thinking of making a thread about this!
Yeahhh. College stuff. Major freaking out going on. I need to finalize my list of where to apply. Right now I'm thinking of about 12 schools, which is WAY too many. But I don't know which ones to take off the list >_>

That, unfortunately, would be all of them. Unless you're comin' across the Atlantic for college.

I had applied for like 3 colleges, and application fees are crap. Its like, "here, spend $50 to apply and if we accept you, you can give us even more!" Haha I'm so bitter.

Those application fees are pissing me off. Most of them are like $70.

I've figured out where I'm applying to because my parents will only pay in-state and I don't feel like making up the difference myself, especially because there isn't any particular out of state school that I'm infatuated with. But I still don't know which one I actually want to go to, of course it all depends upon where I actually get in. I don't know though, I've been researching colleges since freshmen year and it seemed that all of a sudden I decided where to apply without any substantial reasons. Anywho, what does your list of 12 look like?

Kaitlin, that sounds really cool. I'd love to take photography.
Sarah, you're lucky your list came together so easily. How many are you applying to? All public schools, or privates?
Right now the list for me is:
*

Just four, all public:
University of VA VA Tech William & Mary George Mason U
Yeah, I am glad that I know where I'm applying to at least, but unfortunately it's going to take awhile to decide where I actually want to go. George Mason is the best locationwise since it's right outside of DC, but it really isn't that great of a school. WM is smaller than what I wanted and the people that go to UVA have a really bad reputation of being homogenous snobs. Honestly, I like Tech more than any of them but I just don't want to be a townie.

No, unfortunately I don't really have a dream school. It would help if I had half a clue of what I want to do in life. I'm interested for some reason in Ithaca College but I can't afford it and its freezing there all the time. I'd also apply to UNC if I thought there was a chance of getting in, and again if I could afford it.
I'm making a spreadsheet to compare the various aspects of my chosen schools by assigning point values and deductions. Haha.
