Oh wow, admission the same day?
Yeah, my final list is: *
It seems like a lot, but most of 'em are on the common app. I still have to write about six more essays, though. Gross.

Wow, that does seem excessive. You'll have a lot of options, though, which is good. Do you have to finish before winter break for guidance to do its thing?

I'm officially not going to community college! I got accepted to Virginia Tech. Granted, its probably the second least competitive school I applied to, but it's still nice to have at least one letter.

Congrats on getting into Virginia Tech! Awesome.
10 schools is a lot, but since I haven't been able to visit any (except the ones in CA), I couldn't really narrow it down.
Transcript requests were due at the office awhile back, and I gave my teachers & counselor all the stuff they needed to write letters of rec, so the only part left (filling out the applications and writing essays) is what I have to do myself. I have until January 1st to finish everything.

Do they send your transcript and supplementary forms before you actually finish your part of the application?

Yeah... I guess it's kind of weird that the colleges get all that stuff before I've even told them I'm applying. What do you think they do, just throw it into a pile until they receive my application? haha

They told us that they won't send all of that stuff until we send our part...so everyone has to be finished before break starts for Jan. 1 deadlines.

Oh congrats? Was it early decision or action? I live in Blacksburg and they do this thing called on-site admission at our school where they look over your application and stuff one day and give you a non-binding admissions decision at they end of the day. It sounds like you're sold on Penn State, but if you have any questions about Tech/Blacksburg I can probably help. Honestly, it's pretty much my ideal school and the only thing holding me back from going is the fact that I've lived here for so long.

Yeah, we do. I'm tied for fucking valedictorian, but I was not selected as ELC.

I forget what it stands for, but it's something the University of California system does. They say that the top 5% of students at every public school will be guaranteed admission to at least one of the UC campuses. But how they determine that top 5% is anybody's guess....
