Just thought I'd try something that seems to be popular on other forums...
Ok its simple you choose 2 bands/TV shows/movies...whatever an the next person picks witch he or she thinks is best an why an then after that they put 2 more up an the next person chooses who they think is best ect.... you can also explain why to add more to the thread.
ie, p1-Led Zeppelin VS The Beatles p2-Zeppelin - whatever vS whosthatband
to start it off...

Oh dear God...hardest choice in the world. BUT since The Beatles are my all time favorite band I choose them.

Jimmy Page. Although Jimi Hendrix was brilliant I find him to be overrated too much.

thats a tough question
i do love gilmour with his tone and playing ability, not to mention the great head of hair.
BUT ill go with waters because of his lyrics and the simplicity of his bass playing. it goes a long way to play simple notes at the right time, check out echoes if u dont believe me

I'm going to go with Presence, just because Nobody's Fault but Mine, is one of my favorite Zeppelin songs ever.
Better in Van Halen David Lee Roth or Sammy Hagar

David Lee Roth.
Both were good, but Roth had the swagger that comes with being a great frontman.
Phil Lesh (grateful dead bassist) or John Paul Jones (Led Zep)

nick mason by a hair
ringo was great but i never heard too much variation in his fills and tempos. either really fast like a circus show or slower and groovy like the acid years albums (MMT, SPLHCB, revolver)
mason had the ability to do some really interesting things with space. think the beginning of time (hah what a pun) or one of these days (especially the live at pompeii version) or really anything off saucerful of secrets (which i still think is one of the floyd's best albums for some reason)
good one damarust
now....
acoustic guitar or electric?

hmm... im going to have to go with acoustic guitar
electric guitar definitely has some pros to it, including amplification, speed, etc. it's where guitarists show their skills
but an acoustic guitar is more of a feeling guitar, you dont necessarily show how great a guitarist you are, but more of a composer, and a musician.
now..
