anyone who's ever been touched by the floyd's music should probably spend a moment today to thank richard wright for his music. the pink floyd key player passed away today due to cancer. he was 65

All I can think is another great member of a great band gone. It's a shame.

(he wrote the great gig in the sky btw) I loove that song. It's a close one between that and comfortably numb as my favorite floyd song.

It's not great, but life ends. How do you think I felt when I found out Cab Calloway has been dead since '94?

you probably felt similar to me when i found out the legendary bert jansch now has arthritis...
artists dying isnt the hard part to swallow, cause im with you i believe its all in cycles and theyre all in some shady grove happily jamming away. its really that we'll never hear a fresh note from them again. i really liked how wright could play tricks with his notes like on echoes and shine on

Yeah it's like all the possibilities go away with them. I think in someways they get re-incarnated, or more like the spirit of them moves on to inspire new artists. And they'll always be alive in recordings and peoples memories. I always think of their loved ones whenever stuff like this is announced, how if we feel upset just 'cause a musician we enjoyed has died, how must their actual friends and family feel?
But it's all part of the cycle like you say.
