Which is so bloody weird for me, to be seeing a psychologist. Cause I'm going to be one. She even went to the same school I'm going to now. She had this in her office and OMG I want it

I hope that goes well!!! I've been wanting to see a therapist for awhile now. I just don't know how to go about getting one. I can't really talk to my parents about why I want to see one so it's a weird situation.

with my experience, i told my mom i would like to see a therapist and she seemed open minded to the idea. we found a psychologist through the help of my mom's therapist. i think mine costs about 75 an hour...

I can't really talk to my parents about why I want to see one so it's a weird situation. Talk to your doctor about wanting to see one and your doctor should talk to your parents and give them a referral if you ask. If you're old enough and can pay, you could get the referral without telling them, I think. I couldn't be a psychologist even though people come to me and tell me everything for whatever reason. I guess it'd be cool to get paid for it lol

I think mine is more like "talk therapy" which, I dont know if that will help me. I wanted to go for my social anxiety issues, and for most of the time talked about my dads violent alcoholism and my mom abandoning me.
lol, I dont see how thats going to help? But whatever I guess.

Being able to just sit down and talk and not hold anything back is what I need. You might be surprised, talking and having someone to actually listen can really help.

Bah, don't pay anyone, I'll listen to both of your problems for free.

i think for the most part talk therapy is the best kind; as you go on with it over a few months it can become quite a nice part of your schedule.

Well yeah, but I mean, I can talk till my face turns blue about my problems, but I want to fix them not just talk about them haha. Hopefully she can help me with that. I go back next week and the week after that? So who knows.

Good luck. It does help to at least figure out how to go about fixing your problems.

I feel like such a tool though lol I never thought I would have to go to therapy. (No offense to anyone) Although I suppose it would be good to be in that environment anyways, since thats the field I'm going into. All the famous early psychologists had to be "psychoanalyzed," I guess its my turn. rofl.

Heh XD
There's nothing wrong with it, I mean everyone has problems they just can't deal with alone and a lot of people just go through life without resolving them, sometimes 'cause of this whole thing about it being somehow silly or needy or whatever to see a psychiatrist. But really speaking it's just talking to others so you know you're not alone, like everyone does anyway, only this person is a professional and is more likely to know how to help you.
