lol yeah im from clinton Oklahoma, a 3A school, and we have one of the best bands in the entire state. We make 1's at contest every years for the last 6 years in marching and concert band. We were recently featured on the cover of Coachesaid.com which is viewed by many oklahomans every day...Its pretty awesome to come from a small school and still have a great band....the bigger schools are afraid of us and our football teams which is also really good..
Oh and by the way...i play clarinet and am on the colour guard squad...lol

Cool! You can play an instrument in band and be on colorguard at the same time?

yeah i play clarinet in the stands until we march and marching season is only unil like october after we go to contest so....yeah
and i have to play some instrument during contest season so yeah its pretty cool but very hard to learn to drills and toss a 6-foot pole while trying to stay in step with the band....it gets very frustrating sometimes but im a band geek so i stick it out till the end!

I played side-line last year because my friend was the drum major and begged me. It was fun but really time consuming, so I didn't do it this year. Definitely a cool experience though, so intense.

becasue my band mostly is just a parade band. we do perform in the occasional competition parade. i don't consider what we do a sport. I do however consider those bigger bands who do all the feild competitions as being in a sport. becasue i'm on the drumline..i put in double the amount of work. so its very physical for me. i play the entire time..no breaks ever...i use every muscle in my body. i'm a cymbal player so i use every muscle in my upper body..and then marching 2-5 miles depending on the parade is difficult..i havta stay in perfect posture the whole time. i'm more tired after a parade than i am after a basketball game.

lol...yeah we do the field marching and parades and concert band...it is very stressful and sometimes i have to choose between band and basketball, like this year i have a game on the same day as an honor band.... band always comes before basketball though:)

lol..i play b-ball too. but since more than half the team is in band (small school) practices and games are planned around band. and usually a parade or sumthing is on sunday so its never really a problem.
