So we can talk about it without spoiling it for everyone. What did everyone think about the ending? I kind of suspected that Harry was a horcrux and thought that he would have to die to kill Voldemort. I kinda feel like Rowling just wrote her way out of it so that Harry wouldn't have to die, the whole explanation just seemed like some loophole BS. I am happy about the whole Snape not being evil thing, though, and the pensieve passage was one of my favorites of the book. Anyway, I could go on forever, what did ya'll think?

I absolutely LOVED the whole book, ending and all. I kinda suspected Harry was a Horcrux, but I still bawled my eyes out when he realized he had to die. And I continued crying when he saw James, Lily, Sirius, and Lupin with the stone. (I refused to believe that Sirius was really dead and that he would come back in the 7th book, but this totally ripped my heart out. Sirius was seriously my favorite character [along with Harry, of course], so I was really sad that he was actually dead ) Some of the deaths were totally unnecessary, I thought. I mean, Hedwig? And both Tonks AND Lupin....poor Teddy! Fred and Dobby made me sad, too. I was never sure what to think of Snape; I never really had an opinion of whether he was good or bad, so I wasn't TOO suprised that he was good. It was sweet when he died, though, that he wanted to see Lily's eyes in Harry. And I LOVED the Pensieve scenes, too. Those are always my favorite parts of the books. The epilogue was a bit rushed, but I'm glad Harry and Ginny got married. James' middle name just HAS to be Sirius; if it's not I will cry. And Albus Severus? That poor kid. I mean, I know he was named after 2 REALLY brave people that Harry admired, but still. It's kinda cruel. Anyway, I loved the book. Planning on rereading all 7 soon.

I cried when Dobby died, also. I think she killed both Lupin and Tonks to kind of echo Harry's whole orphaness. I both like and didn't like the epilogue. I really didn't think she was going to do that. While I'm a bit glad that I know how it all ended up, I think the book would have been better if she had just left it to the reader's imagination. The epilogue seemed out of place.
Oh, and Lauren, a horcrux is a piece of a person's soul. Dark wizards divide their souls and put parts of them in other objects as a way of perserving their life. It's a bit difficult to understand if you haven't read the books.

The ending was weak, nobody crucial died, everyone got married, snape wasn't evil, harry killed voldermort AND CAME BACK FROM THE DEAD!!! Neville should've killed him, she's been prepping him to do the deed for the past 3 books!
I hate J.K. Rowling so much for her cowardice. Have some spine and at least give a mediocre saga a decent ending (or at least the one you've been setting up for 6 books.)

I do feel a bit like Cedric's death was more dramatic than any of the ones in the 7th.

I liked the ending. The epilogue was a bit much, and seriously Albus Severus. That sucks SOOOO much. There must be a law against that or something. He got points for a cool name like Hedwig, but then he just blows it on his kids.
I was under the impression that a lot of people were going to die. She said 2 major characters were going to die awhile ago. I thought that perhaps she met the 3 main characters? Hermione, Ron, and Harry? Whatever. But I feel so bad for George, without Fred. Who kills off one twin?

HAHA, you mean you thought she should've been charitable and killed off George, too??

She probably meant Fred and Snape.

Fred is sooooo not a major character! At least he was not portrayed as so in the first couple books.
