Any other fellow Vegetarians/Vegans/Pescatarians around?
I've been a VegHead for a year strong now. One day decided because of moral reasons to stop eating meat. Went Cold Turkey and I never looked back.
After about 6 months, the cravings to eat Meat goes away because that's how long it takes for the Chemicals ( If that's the proper term?) from the Animals to wash away.
Not a Vegan though, so I still enjoy Eggs and Dairy products. An overwhelming majority of folks that don't eat meat become Anemic, me included. Basically, energy is drained faster and you have tendencies to fall asleep more often/faster. It's something I don't mind. I know I'm healthy, and I'm also fulfilling my moral values.
Share your stories/thoughts/comments/concerns.
Namaste, John.

I mostly just eat quorn and things, occasionally some meat by way of having no choice other than starvation, and then it's a waste of what's already been cooked. But when it is it's freerange, which is the best I can ensure. I don't eat a lot of meat anyway and now it's virtually none at all apart from the very seldom occasion. I've always eaten fairly healthily and have a good immune system. Eventually I'll cut out meat altogether but it's getting my mum to do it to that is the next tsep.

I've thought about going vegetarian and I'm sure I've said 'yeah, okay. I'll do it' before for moral reasons but I know my mum wouldn't respect my decision and... I can actually stand to eat meat.

Hitler could stand to persecute the Jews but that was un-ethical And screw your mum, follow your own path.

How can you not quit cold turkey? ...I guess cutting back. I've been vegetation most of my life, had to stop a few short times though ... due to health (aka me being an idiot about it), couldn't afford it because of money problems, or when I stayed at my dads and no one hated meat enough there so it would be out of the way. That's probably why they don't support you... could be something else, but I find a few people I know didn't because no one else would and they didn't want to pay

It does mostly seem to be about money. Though I've illustrated several times that less needless food would mean it didn't cost more than a normal shopping trip anyway.

I'm a vegetarian. I thought I was one for about three or four years and then a few months ago, I realized poptarts contain gelatin! I didn't eat them regularly, just on rare occasions but still, i was pretty pissed. so now I am (for real) and I eat organic poptarts and won't eat anything cheap that i don't the ingredients of.

Most sweats have gellatin too, especially things like fruit pastells, starbursts etc. You do have to be careful about that stuff. Don't forget jelly!! (Or jello maybe you call it)

You can get vegan stuff some places, like jello and shit.
Question: What if you were in a situation where someone made you something with animal product, meat or otherwise, and it'd just be thrown out, would you eat it?

Yes, waste never makes sense, it's made, the animal is dead so it's too late. Plus refusing would be bad manners to an extent.

Cool, I was just wondering, it's happened to me before. I'm not a STRICT vegetarian though, I usually am, but once in a not very often while, meat wont hurt. Some kinds anyway, there are some I WONT eat though.
