Wow, unless I'm going blind, there hasn't been a single thread dedicated to the mighty Byrds. One of the finest '60s bands, in my opinion, and definite rock pioneers. Let's hear it for the Byrds, eh?

I think Eight Miles High is one of the greatest pyschadellic songs. I love their cover of My Back Pages too. Yes did a really good version of the Byrds' "I See You" on their first album.

Personally, I think the Byrds' best album is The Notorious Byrd Brothers. It's definitely one of the best albums of '68.
Younger than Yesterday is also quite good.

"So you wanna be a rock & roll star? Then listen now, to what I say. Just get an electric guitar, and take some time and learn how to play..." I love that song. Its pretty funny. I guess I just love the Byrds in general- but then again... who couldn't??

Hee hee, I just got a DVD of a little concert they did. It was only a couple songs and it was kind of dissapointing because of the poor quality, but it was the first time I've ever seen them perform live. Pretty schnazzy.
I really like their drummer(s), too, even though they're considered to be "too sloppy"; they are all a good-sloppy.
