If you havn't heard these guys, go to the fucking record store and buy their self-entitled album. It was released in 1976 or so, and one of the best things I have ever heard. Boston is now one of my favorite bands!!! Im not sure if anyone on this forumn likes them, or has even heard of them, but these guys are incredible! Whats your thoughts on them and their record!

Boston made such a huge splash with that first album. Tom Scholz is a fantastic songwriter and great guitarist. For the curious, he achieved his tone using Les Paul guitars, Marshall amps, and gadgets he designed and built himself (at the time he was studying electrical engineering at MIT). Nowadays, he has licensed his designs for manufacture by Jim Dunlop Company, makers of the Cry Baby Wah Pedal and other knicknacks and doo-dads.
I have all (3) the Boston CDs and am amazed every time I hear their music. Powerful stuff!

Yeah, Boston's a great band. I bought it and loved it when it first came out (just like millions of others). Still one of the best debuts ever. Don't Look Back and Third Stage also are excellent, although not a whole lot different than their debut. Didn't care much for anything I heard from their Walk On or Corporate America albums though. I saw them a couple of years ago and they were awesome. Their debut album was almost completely recorded by Tom Scholz with Brad Delp doing all the vocals. They didn't actually have a complete band until after the album was already done.

I never liked Boston either. It sounds like Arena rock with ELO/ Jeff Lynne style big production. I can't get into it.

I agree that the first 3 lps were really good 70,s rock verry good band All great shows but the Anihiem show stands out OZZY had rejoined Black Sabbath after a breakup after this tour they would fire Ozzy and would not get back together till 99.Also Van Halen opened and the band that followed was Sammy Hagar before he became a Van Hagar member also there were four guys who parachuted into the parking lot just before Van Halen came on and until a few years ago i believed it was the band the announcer said Van Halen is parachuting into the stadium and they ran onstage still taking off thier chutes but i found out recently that it was all a setup. They got me on that one but dont get me wrong all three of these shows were awesome
