we have a bass player now, so its a full band. 4th of july was too early, we're shooting for end of july now. starting to learn covers. so far we're planning on playing day tripper by the beatles, song that jane likes by dmb, brain damage->eclipse by floyd, and sand by phish. this is on top of the 5 originals we have down already. there will be 5 more originals down before we play. our stuff sounds halfway decent. sort of like phish meets dmb meets metallica. yes i bring the metallica influence...sadly...or nicely, depending on what u listened to in 7th grade.
so any cover suggestions? remember we have an acoustic guitar, bass, drums, and keyboard...so a song should have parts for those instruments. i keep trying to introduce zeppelin songs but the other guys arent into the band as much.
any cover suggestions are welcome. and steely dan and weather report are out because of the complexity of the music structure heh..

ok so regardless of what my other band does, ive decided to start a new band with the bass player from the other one. he's gonna play mandolin, ill be on acoustic guitar, and we're recruiting two of his friends as well. one is a hand drummer and the other is a 12 string guitarist. ive always wanted to play in a folky/celtic band and this seems to be the opportunity. ive been writing songs for it already and am pumped to have the opportunity. yeah i hope my band right now does well but it really isn't home musically. jazz and funk are two things that i like but dont exactly listen to everyday like i do the pentangle or something of the like. ill let u all know what happens for those who care. maybe ill post some music from either band if it gets recorded; we do have the technology to record its just a matter of busing the equipment to the right house. sigh, back to work.
