I've been a big fan of Tchaikovsky ever since i was a kid. His work is so breath taking and complex. I just wish i could've been inside his mind for a day, preferably the day he though up something like the 1812 overture.

For those who didn't read my little rant on the general board, i've seen the light and have been into classical for the better part of a year. Absolutely the greatest virtuosos have been from classical/romantic etc eras.. Listen to Paganini's 24 Caprices and Solo Violin Conciertos, just picture someone moving their fingers so quickly and gracefully, astounding. For guitar, try Francisco Tarrega, Dionisio Aguado and Villa-Lobos, who composed for it. i urge you guys to listen to it. Go on youtube and listen to Li Jie's interpretation of Paganini's 24th Caprice or Aguado's Rondo, thats what turned me onto classical guitar

I actually have a CD of the 24 Caprices that I found around the house. I think it was my dad's or something. Pretty amazing.

I listen to Beethoven when I'm stressed out, it helps some.

I listen to "Best of Bach" when I'm studying, haha. I do prefer the Romantics better, though.

I've not listened to much classical music, out of apathy rather than disdain Anyone care to suggest something? (By suggest, I mean link to free samples so I don't have to do any leg work)

I LOVE Beethoven's 6th Symphony and the second movement of his 7th symphony; Chopin's Nocturne #9 and Ecossais by Schubert. I also like Bach -- all his busy little constant notes really appeal to me.
I also like 'Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring' - is that Bach? I like Clementi also and Brahm's Hungarian dances and of course the Hall of the Mountain King, too.
