Thanks, that's good advice ;D Set back #2: My sister won't let me near the guitar and claims it's hers. I don't think theres's any advice you could give me that could stop my sister from being psycho.

My brother let me use his guitar until I saved up enough money to get my own. All I can say is to just start saving money if you really want one. If you ever need advice on what to buy, or what you could get in a certain price ranges just ask me anytime! ;D

Haha, yeah, she seriously needs meds cause she's friggin nuts. Thank you so much for all your advice and help! You'll be the first person I'll go to with questions if I really decide I'm gonna go for it. What really kills me is that the guitar we own is an old Fender Telecaster! That's an AWESOME guitar and I really want to play it, but my sister keeps it locked up in her room.

My dad is a pretty big drum dealer and he meets a lot of people, and one of them happened to be a super nice guy who gave it to my dad as a gift. That guy is actually talking to my dad downstairs right now...I should thank him

Haha, I'll think about it My sister is at a friends house, so I ran into her room and turned it inside out trying to find the damned guitar. After about half an hour of searching, I finally found it in on a shelf in her closet hidden behind stacks of clothes So now I have it and I don't know what to do with it

I don't really know where to start...I get really intimidated and just kind of give up. I started on basic chords. The first song I learned was Stand by Me. It is just has G,C and D in it. There are all sorts of simple books and event sites on the internet that can tell you how to play whatever chord you want. Like this site: guitar.to/folder/guitar.html .Once you get down the basics, there is no stopping you.
