Yeah it's just a few updates. It looks much better though. I'm still holding on to my Windows XP until I can get my hands on a mac laptop.

I saw someone's computer who had Vista, and it was pretty cool, but nothing heartwrenching. Just like a sleek, modern looking interface.

to answer that you should answer a deeper question. What is Windows?
Windows is an operation system that works out of a series of Windows, hence the name, when you click something to open a window it's actually running command lines and all that good stuff that i only sort of know about.
That being said, Vista is the newest version of the windows operating system built to run on a new version of Direct X, which is basically this peice of software that makes all the good stuff as for as media goes work on our computer. Vista also has differences as far as layout and a much heavier security set up but overall it breaks down like this.
Vista=XP with prettier graphics, more bugs, less stuff compatible and a security set up that thinks firefox could be a virus and asks you for permission to open it "cause they might be scawwwy tings inside"
I hope that helps.

there's more to it, but my overwhelming hatred of Vista(and windows in general)(even though i'm on it right now) restrains me from doing enough research to make more sense and give more information.

Yes, Windows is annoying. Up with amiga again, what was wrong with that? Eff all.
Who's fault is it their gone? Microsoft . . . well, and Amiga's bad business managament, but mainly Microsoft. I still have an Amiga that's fifteen years old, still works but is now basically redundant. Lame!

Doesn't matter, Vista failed so horrendously that they're already rushing to ship out the next version of windows that will also be full of bugs due to their lack of testing and shotty programming and overall lack of concern for customer satisfaction.

And people will still buy in their millions just because it's Microsoft and is 'easy' to use. Vive la Microsoft!

^Macbooks are good, especially if you're into arts and music type stuff, like recording and editing. From Mac to windows, I'd choose Macbook unless you're just looking for a general computer, you might be better off getting something a little cheaper. I'd get a dell with Ubuntu(Linux), it's about as good as a Mac security wise and most of it's programs and stuff are free. I had it on my old computer before I moved and it was great. Ubuntu is also probably the most user-friendly Linux and is probably more user friendly than windows once you get used to it not being windows (for you windows junkies)
