I worry about everything. no joke, I do. I honestly go to bed with fear every night of anything and everything. I panic myself to sleep. I have to listen to talk shows at night to hear people's voices so I don't feel like I'm alone and vulnerable. On a good night I can listen to music to be okay but sometimes it gets so bad that I even resort to Republican talk shows when it's really bad so I can get angry and not think about being scared. I just realized how bad I am the other night when I accidently left my iPod attached to the computer one night and sat up with a rosary and prayed until almost 5 (you guys know I'm not very religious). Now I've had this problem since as long as I can remember but it's just gotten worse. I know I should tell someone about it but I don't know who. I used to tell my mom when I was little and she's sympathetic, but she just doesn't understand because she has no imagination.

Have you thought about prescription meds for anxiety or sleeping pills? They're risky but if nothing else works it'd probably be worth it.

That means I'd have to talk to a psychiatrist

General doctors can't prescribe sleeping pills?

Then I'd have to ask my mom and she'd say no because she doesn't like the idea of perscription medicine unless it's life threatening

Dude! I know this will sound like I'm trying to be sympathetic or I don't really know what you mean, but I do the same thing!!!! I purposely go to bed very late so I can fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow, b/c if I stay up I get to thinking about things that get me depressed. And I got to where just listening to any music isn't enough; I listen to the classical station when I go to bed now b/c there aren't any words that can be sad or depressing. Just any fear that doesn't bother me during the day consumes me at night and I panic and worry. Wow, I thought I was totally alone w/that one.
