Does your school register classes so early? Do you know what you're going to take?

dj;dfjasdf'asdlfsdkjhqheeahf don't remind me about that. I think we're registering in the next couple weeks. I am having the BIGGEST dilemma ever, because I don't know what science class to take. Can't decide between physics Honors and AP bio. And I don't think I can do both. ughhhhhhhhh

Are they both two periods? Oh wait, your on a block, nevermind. A lot of people that I know that've taken AP Bio have really enjoyed it. I hate bio, though; I'm going to take AP Environmental, which is a bit of a cop-out, but in reality is what I'm most interested in. I can't decide whether to take AP or regular Calc. I'm actually doing okay, though, because I created three different "pathways" that I could take awhile ago, so I have a general idea of different combinations. It just seems really soon, though.

It would definitely be possible for me to have both classes in my schedule, but the thing is they don't like people to have more than one science class in one year. I need to go in and ask the counselor what the chances of that are...
You have a calc class that isn't AP? That's weird. Is the AP one AB, or BC? I've heard that AB isn't really that bad. So you'd probably be fine in that.
I wish my school had AP environmental science! That would be soooo cool. I would so take that.

I am still thinking about taking physics as well. I was always thought that I'd take it senior year because I never really considered environmental, but I'm almost positive that I want to take environmental now. A lot of people take two sciences per year at my school, so that wouldn't be a problem. Apparently someone even took AP physics sophmore year because they combined so many each year.
For calculus, we have regular calculus, AP calc AB, and AP calc BC. You need to take AB before BC. Were you allowed to skip it?

Yeah, I went straight from precalc last year to BC this year. You can take AB and then BC, but it's pretty rare here.

Yeah, in high school we'd register in Feb too, I think. And to answer your question about the science thing; I would take AP, to get the college credit. A lot of majors require bio anyways. Plus, you can take more advanced classes since you already have that credit.

If you're going for a science major, take AP Bio. You need it regardless of whatever science major you'll take, but if you're not, go with physics, as actually taking AP classes will just waive prereqs, but not actually count towards the degree, so you'll end up taking a higher science course just to fill out the credit difference. I think I explained that well enough... A lot of schools aren't really up front about stuff like that, as well as what courses transfer for degree credit and whatnot between colleges.

Oh, I think I know what you mean. I think I will go with the bio... except today my chem teacher was giving me a hard time about not having physics (coincidentally, he does teach physics as well as chem ).

Shit, we registered early. I almost didn't sign up for math but I knew that I had to so I signed up for AP Calculus BC. I'm scared. Are you taking a math Lauren?

What do you take after BC? Stat?

Well this year my school has AP Stats, but only offered after school, like from 3-5 a couple days a week. But I cannot do that because I do after school sports. However, there is a chance that they might offer it during the school day, and I really really really really want to do that... because the alternative is going to the community college to take a stats class or something. Which would be a huge inconvenience.
And Elena, you will be FINE in calc BC if you've already had AB!

Hmmm...starting to think that I shouldn't have signed up for AP Calc. Oh well, I can always go down I guess.
