So for pretty much the past week I have been eating the rest of my graduation party cake. It was a marble cake with tons of frosting. Which I guess leads me to ask the question, whats your favorite kind of cake? Mine is usually allll chocolate.

Hm... actually, even though I am SUCH a sweets freak, I don't eat that much cake. But... chocolate is good. Probably that. But not too much frosting on any type of cake; that's just gross.

Yellow cake, chocolate frosting, those little flower sprinkles. That's my favorite. OOO and I like those sprinkleish things that actually go in the batter. I remember my mom tried to make this castle cake out of ice cream cones for my princess party when I was turning 6 or something...what a disaster.

Well, I don't eat sugar anymore, but when I did, there were several kinds I absolutely loved. My favorite being red velvet cake with creme cheese icing.

My grandma's birthday is next weekend and we're going to see her so I wanted to make a cake. Anyone have any amazing recipes? I've actually never made a cake that didn't come from a box so if it could be relatively easy, that'd be cool.

I'm actually not a big fan of cheesecake (pretty much the only person I know that isn't wild about it). But actually my cake is cooling right now. I got a recipe off of the internet for coconut cake. Pretty nervous about it since I've never tasted it before, but it got a lot of good reviews so hopefully it'll taste okay.

I'm not a cheesecake person, either. It seems so heavy and fatty, and doesn't even taste that good. I'd rather have a more... cakey kind of cake. Tell us how the coconut cake is! If it's good, post the recipe

The cake turned out pretty well and thank goodness it didn't flip over in the car or anything. It was really moist and rich (700 calories...yikes!). I probably should have cooked it a little longer, but it looked done. I feel really gross now because they had gotten a carrot cake and a birthday cake also and I ate so much cake this weekend. Haha. This is the recipe I used: allrecipes.com/Recipe/Rave-Reviews-Coconut-Cake/Detail.aspxIt was really easy to make, but be sure to split the butter as some of the reviewers said (you only use half of the 4 tbs to toast the coconut, the other 2 go directly into the frosting).
